Looking into increased flow of water. Tom Ranucci will be going
to the next East Cherry Creek Water Division (ECCWD) board meeting
to get an explanation. A lot of properties along the creek bed are
turning into swamp land. The county has plans to install the
concrete dams along the creek bed.
Piney Creek Trail
We have been successful in the
redesign of the Piney Creek trail from just west of Tower Road to
Cherry Creek State Park. We now have a separate horse trail which
means we can ride from our backyards down to the state park without
interference. Arapahoe County planning and their Architect, Mr. Doug
Rockne, were great to deal with and very helpful. The original plan
did not have a horse trail included and we would have had to ride
along the concrete path which in some cases is right next to Orchard
road. We were lucky in our timing and Joe Knopinski from The Farm
development was instrumental in setting up our meeting. We should
all give a special thanks to PCR resident Dick Snedeker, our
resident trail expert. Dick did a great presentation to the County
and they were very impressed with his knowledge and incorporated
just about all of Dick's recommendations. Great job Dick and thank
you again! We are now, to my knowledge, the only development in the
area which has direct equestrian access to a state park without
having to do street crossings, etc. to get there. This adds value to
our home values and makes PCR that much more attractive.
We have a plan available of the whole trail. Please contact me at
tom@buildwell.com if you wish to check it out.
Arapahoe Road
Arapahoe County is considering a light at the Piney Creek
Ranches Road. We are checking into the status.
Development on South Side of Arapahoe Road
"Estancia" plans are out and in the works. We need to get
involved in this. The intersection will be at Euclid.
Piney Creek Hollow Park
The ECCWD gave approval to the Arapahoe Park and Rec District to
proceed with their plan. The final approval has to go through
Arapahoe County. The plan has four fields, horse trails, a public
bath/storage/picnic house and limited parking and no lights. The
"Foundation" group from Sienna is taking legal action to block the
park. We will keep following this development.
